    Is it your boom dropping

If your boom is dropping it is likely the emergency boom drop ball valve. It is located through the rear door by the hydraulic tank. Make sure this is fully closed and functioning properly or the boom will drop.

the emergency boom drop ball valve is working properly. no pass-through leak. any other ideas?

Does your boom cylinder have a burst protection valve fitted on it. I will look into this for you. Give me a little time to research it for you

is your machine equipped with float or smooth ride

    Nothing special on the ride

Have you verified it is not the cylinder seals. That is also common. The valve is electrically controlled so its best to test all the simple things first. Maybe JCBJEFF can offer some more insights as he is much more experienced.
