The auxiliary hydraulic on loader works intermittently, the thumb wheel will function fine and then does nothing just quits working. I get no error code. Any ideas on where to start looking I would like to avoid new joystick unless sure that is the problem
Post a Serial Number so that the type of thumbwheel you have (Hall Effect or PWM) can be identified. Once we have that information you can have a testing procedure.

You sensor is a PWM type. To test the input/output will require a multimeter capable of measuring duty cycle. Under the joystick are 2 electrical connectors, you need to concentrate on the 12-pin one, specifically Pins 1, 2, & 3. All tests are with the key in the ON position, the engine stopped, and the 12-pin connector connected to the machine harness. So you will need some attachment to your meter leads that allows you to back-probe into the terminals of the connector. Between Pins 1 & 2 should be 5v DC. Between Pins 3 & 2 should be around 50% duty cycle with the roller in the centre, 5-10% with it rolled one way from the centre, and 90-95% with it rolled in the opposite direction.
Thanks
