I have a 289D3 CAT0289DTJX908341 with the bucket level sensor Hi volt code 3700-3 All harness connectors (on rt. boom) are clean & tight. Where do the wires to the sensor usually fail? (spent an hour or so searching the forum)

Thank you Sir X2!!
You'll have to hope someone with prior experience chimes in to tell you where on the machine you might be best to look for harness damage, which IIRC is not an uncommon occurence. If you're going to test wire continuity I would suggest you do it by connecting one end of the wire to Batt+ and the other end to machine frame grouns via a 5A test light. If the wire will pass 5A without popping it should be good. Too many times seen multimeters give a very low resistance reading when only one strand of wire was still hanging on. Yes it has continuity according to that reading, but will it pass current.? Er, how about noooo.
10-4
Nothing glaring on the visible parts of the harness
Update, new harness/ hyd hose conduit to level sensor. (old one had broken wires at entrance to conduit) new one has 14 awg wire instead of 18!!
