Takeuchi TL10V2 engine knock

Fordman · 2026-02-08 10:03

Looking at another project at auction. its a 2019 TL10V2, with 5500 hours and a LOTO tag for engine knock. Certainly sounds like it spun a bearing or having a connecting rod coming apart. Starts right up but has a knock. Seems like it has good tracks and some other odds and ends. Pretty surprising to me but a complete long block for this would be around 10k for a Kubota V3307. Anyone have experience pulling a engine on a newer machine with full cab, was it a nightmare? Looking around it seems like 14 or 15k out the door would be the most I would give

Shouldn’t be too hard to pull the motor and V3307’s are completely rebuildable. I do not know if those are lined or not but that would make that job much easier.

Just looking at how dirty cab is tells me about the pride of ownership/ maintenance. That being said, most skids are out of service by 6000hours. Lots die sooner than that from hydraulic failure that takes out the pumps and motors. Your time is worth money, and new motor in a grenaded hydraulic system is still a lawn ornament. That is a fair amount of money between purchase and repair. Don't dare to do without a running hydraulic sample. Simon C

Doesn’t help that a can of starting fluid, is taking space in a cup holder!

Good eye, I missed that beside the other dirt. Simon C
