310SG Hard starts after sitting for the weekend.

One of my 310SG is having some starting problems. When the machine sits for the weekend it is hard to start on monday, It just cranks over but will not fire up, It will start after cranking for a long time. around 30 seconds of cranking. When it sits just over night it starts fine the next day, problem is only when it sits for more than a day. Any idea what might be causing this to happen?

check the fuel lift pump... sounds like its letting fuel leak back into the tank. Try shutting the valve on the bottom of the tank on friday, and opening it just before you try to start it monday.

When you finally get it started, does it run rough for about 5-10 seconds? If so, you could be sucking air into the fuel system.

It run normal once it does fire up. Do you guys think pumping the priming pump before starting might help?

Had the same problem with my 410G before you start it pull the fuel cap off and try it, what happened to mine with the same symptoms is that the vent in the fuel cap was clogged now every so often i blow the vent hole out with compressed air. Let me know if it helps

Pumping the primer will help untill you can get the check valve replaced that is letting the fuel leak back. I have a JD 466 that I have been pumping for 4-5 years now. later pointrow
