Has anyone else had this issue? Looking for wiring diagrams Replaced coolant temperature sensor Checked all relays, fuses, and grounds. 289D Serial number TAW09201
Sorry it's a 459-2 error code Coolant gauge reads faulted
Can you access Diagnostic Codes via the RH panel.? If you are not sure please post a photo showing what the panel looks like. Some you can, others you can't.
Yes I can
Any chance you can post a list of all the Active Diagnostic Codes that you have.? If you have none right now then please post a list of Logged Codes - hoping that someone hasn't erased them of course.
Logged error codes 232-2 232-1 459-2 569-2 570-2 875-2 875-1
Any thoughts?
Sorry, life got in the way....... 232-1 - High water level in fuel/water separator. Drain water. 232-2 - As above but Level 2 (more urgent). Drain water NOW. 459-2 - Engine Power Rating Mismatch. 569-2 - Unexpected Left Motor Reverse Speed Detected 570-2 - Unexpected Right Motor Forward Speed Detected 875-1 - Low System Voltage Level 1. 875-2 - Low system Voltage Level 2. E875-1 Activates when the engine is Not running and battery voltage is 10 VDC for 2 seconds. Also Activates when the engine is running and battery voltage is 13.0 VDC for 2 seconds. Note: All battery voltages are relative to what the ECM detects. Actual voltage measurements may be slightly lower at the battery terminal or at the ECM pins. E875-2 Activates when the engine is running and battery voltage is 12.25 VDC for 2 seconds. There is an increased charging system problem. Battery voltage is becoming too low for continued operation. I would suggest to have all the Logged Codes/Events wiped from the ECM memory then you know that whatever you see at some future point happened on your watch.
What about the569..570 codes?
They are Logged, meaning they were there once but are not there now. Could have been caused by various things. The best suggestion is to have all the Codes/Events erased from the ECM memory. Then you know that anything appearing from then on happened on your watch. It will need Cat ET to do that, and while you are at it have whoever does the job give you a Product Status Report (PSR) from both BEFORE and AFTER he does the job.
We are now tracing wires on the engine ecm. Went from engine side plug j1 pin 12 t machine side j1 pin 6 wire 306-c44-gn-18. We have continuity and voltage between ecms. Checked wire j1 plug pin 20 (202 ej25 bk 18) case ground and found it open. Checked wire j1 plug pin 21(150 ej4 or 18) bat + and found .023v with key on and start positions.
Was thinking of making a jumper from connection 28 pin 11 to ground. Does this sound like we're on the right track ?
Have you checked the integrity of both the engine ground cable and its connections at both ends as per the documentation that I sent to you.? Are you still facing a "No Crank - No Start" situation.?
Is it the one under the starter? That is the only one I can't get to. Still have no crank no start Jumped starter to check if it cranks and it does.
Guess what is at the other end of wire 202-EJ25, which morphs into wire 202-EJ45 at a splice in Grid G-14 on Page 9.? You win today's prize if your answer is the ground cable to the engine block........ check Page 9, Grid B-13. I think this is where we came in..... It's the one shown in the illustrations contained in that document I sent to you. Two slightly different locations depending on engine model. You have a C3.8 so it's the second illustration, located behind the high pressure fuel pump.
Just rechecked the ground , Behind the alternator, and it's good
Try a continuity test between engine ECM J1 Pin 30 (202-EJ25) and the ground cable terminal located behind the alternator. I suggest that you remove the cable from the stud first and test to the ring terminal to avoid potentially spurious results. Inspect the terminal and the engine block for the presence of green "crusties". Clean as necessary.
While you are poking around in the area of the Machine ECM with the cab raised I would also suggest to inspect/clean/check tightness of the cab ground #15.
My pin 30 is blank Pin 20 is the wire you said. An we have continuity between 20 and ground Also took the grounds off and cleaned the connecTors under cab
My apologies. Pin 20. A few posts above you stated "Checked wire j1 plug pin 20 (202 ej25 bk 18) case ground and found it open." TBH I would still suggest to remove the ground cable from the engine block and test continuity from Pin ECM J1 Pin 20 to the ring terminal on the end of the cable. Actually the best way to do the test would be using something like a 20W test light so that the circuit actually passes a reasonable amount of current.
How many volts should be at pins 1 18 21 38 58 and 78?
With key on
I don't know if was operator error but all grounds on j1 are good
I take it you missed this table on the schematic. Located in the bottom RH corner of Page 9. I'd still pull that engine block ground off an inspect it TBH. It is the favourite location for creating an E459 Event.
Sorry working out side in the clod and rain with a cell phone. I have no voltage at none of those pins.
There are two differente wire numbers involved there and they come from two different places. Everything on wire 123 comes from fuse A10 in the top half (energized when key is ON) of the fuse box. The fuse is the bottom one and should be marked ENG ELEK/LRC THROTTLE. Grid F-11, Page 8. Everything on wire 150 comes from the ECM power relay. Grid C-12, Page 8.
