I was looking at the track on our 550 H the other day and noticed that it is slightly toed out in the front,it almost looks like the main frame is slightly bent out where the main idler bolts on. Every thing seems to be wearing normal. Any thoughts on this?
pull a string down the side of the frame and check it i have fixed a few bent ones
Well they're bent out for sure how do I straighten them,how in the world did they even get bent? we tend to baby all of our equipment.
bent frames Ruben i have done it several ways. I have seen with the string streched along the frame frames that have cracked but the outside didnt show it. Ive used dozers to push them i have also noched them with s grinder or torch and pushed them into place then welded. Like i said the string will tell you where it starts bending and how much. it might consist of pulling the roller frame off which is not to bad on 550 steve
what would cause them to bend?
bent frames the frames are not wery heavy on a 550 . they are box tubing stumps and rocks get wedged in there while your pushing and thats usally how it happends
