I just bought a 1996 580SL series II and it has red colored hydraulic fluid. Most fluids at Tractor Supply and O'Reilly's are clear. Can I mix the fluids or should I go with a more expensive Dextron III from NAPA which is twice as expensive? Thanks,
The Hy-Tran Ultra has a red color so I would stay with that from your local dealer. It has additives to protect you cylinder seals from drying out.. It's expensive but worth it in the long run.
