Hi all, recently bought a JD 2004 650H LGP ,TO650HX929891-- put about 50 hrs. on machine and it works well, except I have to speed up for reverse all the time, then come back down to lower speeds for forwards, the "forward faster than reverse" dial is all the way to faster in reverse, i tried it faster forward and reverse is so slow its ridiculous, I would guess its about a quarter slower in reverse than forward, for example if its going 2 mph forward reverse would be 1.5 mph. any advice appreciated !
Thanks for posting the serial number. Are you saying with the dial set to Reverse Faster Than Forward (all the way clockwise) the machine is still going slower in reverse than forward? If so it may be set slower in the TCU which you can changed. If it is slower in all settings then I will walk you through checking that setting.
yeah, with the dial turned all the way to faster in reverse it is still slower in reverse than forward, say I am pushing at 1.7 forward maybe that would be 2mph-------1.7 reverse goes 1 1/2mph , if i turn the dial to faster forward it will go faster forward and REALLY slow in reverse, so the dial is changing my speed .
Try this. Take the cover off of your TCU. Key on. Wait until the screen on the TCU scrolls through to the word PARK. Then press the MENU button until you see RATE in the screen. Press SELECT. Then press NEXT until the screen has RevR displayed. Press SELECT. Press NEXT until HIGH is displayed. Press MENU. Then key off. Then run machine and see if it moves faster in reverse with the dial set to "Reverse faster than Forward".
