Or is it 7620. I guess video embedding doesn't work anymore?

That's the same scraper that used to come, from the factory, with a 5010 tractor. So, the 7520 would be a bit overkill except that no 5010 ever dragged a scraper around like that. That 7520 won't last long under those kind of circumstances. Wonder why he runs paddles for unloading that kind of dry soil? Totally unncessary.

That scraper looks a lot like a 613 bowl, 10 yard capacity. 7520 & bowl could be quite useful, how long it lasts will depend on the fitter that put together and the operator that's tearing it apart.

What I meant to say...andcdidn't...is that the JD7520 itself won't hold up to that kind of use. i've got quite a bit of time on those, and while they're really great farm tractors, their drive train won't take that kind of use for very long.

Hi i am the owner , fitter and the operator this unit. I originally put this unit together in 1997 to operate on big loose sand hills where 2WD John Deere 760 and Cat 613 had no chance due to lack of traction. We would use the tractor on the scraper on late summer and then use the tractor for seeding and then hook scraper back on once seeding was complete This unit has proven to be successful as it did not require a dozer to do preliminary work also removed thousands of tons of iron stone from higher rainfall country with clay soil, sometimes spending a full shift in 1st gear due to steepness going up while loading the stones and using engine to brake while coming back down. Stones where used to fill in eroded water courses and to provide crossings. I can assure you we where using every bit of power the tractor had. We have a pressure compensated hydraulic pump driven by the PTO and it is set up so the pump stops pumping when the bowl is almost full. We also have a electric over hydraulic valve that stops the chains if required, this way i dont have to turn the tractor PTO on and off. When loading sand i usually let the chains stall as this holds extra sand in the chains, and let the chains run while unloading to help maintain even spread of sand to where it needs to be spread. I can obtain a even spread of 200 to 250mm of sand and the paddock can be sown with out any other levelling. The sand can vary in moisture content from very dry on surface (loose) to damp at depth which unless close attention is payed to does not spread as evenly. We also tend to load very aggressively at the top of hills as there are generally very undulating due to blow outs, rabbit burrows etc We hook in deep at the top and use the scraper to drag the sand down the hill to help reduce the steepness. The 760 bowl had some modifications when i bought it and it cost me 3K Ive fitted new chains, sprockets, staffa hydro motors, vickers pump , oil tank and brackets to go on tractor for 12K Tractor has had well over 1000hrs on the scraper. in the begin when had problem where the shaft came out of the original 2 pinion rear diff and smashed the charge oil pump in the back end this resulted in having to have a major rebuild, but this, i have been told ,has been a problem from right from the john deere 4010's we took the opportunity to fully overhaul the rear end including wheel bearings, we also fitted a 3 pinion diff from a john deere 4840, and apart from a few oil leaks it has been trouble free. in retrospect we probably should have fitted heavier final drives and axles but so far so good. Pretty much have done everything i have set out to do on my farm and i dont chase any outside work, there is plenty of other things to do now days, how ever we do crank her up every now and again when the a need arises. the worst thing about the whole 7520 is the cab (never did get around to putting the AC in) if i ever to manage to sell the tractor to a collector i will mount the scraper on a dolly made from a earth mover axle of some sort and operate it with our john deere 8420 farm tractor . the majority of the work ive done has been short haul around 100m and i cant see there would be to many problems with this, i think it would be alot more enjoyable to operate with a nice cab, powershift , Air conditioning, et al.
