Had a track slip halfway off an upper roller. I assume that I need to release pressure in that adjuster, de-tension the track, and pry the track chain back onto the roller the way it should be? I don't have any type of manual or other reference for this dozer, so where do I find the relief valve that needs to be backed out to relieve the pressure? Intuitively I know it's on the tensioner, but if someone could help me zero in on it's location I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks! EDIT: Is the relief valve the same component as where grease is added to the tensioner?
It is indeed. Put a wrench on the hexagon under the zerk and slowly loosen it maybe half a turn. DO NOT remove it completely, the grease pressure behind can be considerable.
Thank You for the quick reply, Sir!
