So guys my loader seems to run quite cool in winter, or if weather is somewhat cooler, the rear fan isn't shutting off, its continuously running, where is the sensor that's telling it to shut off???
Please post a machine Serial Number to assist in locating information regarding your cooling system. Also have you verified that the coolant temperature sensor reading is correct by using an infra-red heat gun.?
Here's another thought. When was the water temperature regulator (aka thermostat) last changed.?
Sorry for not suppling serial number,CAT0930HCDHC00287, I havent changed the thermostat? the loader has 14k hours, but only 5k hours since we replaced engine.
I would suggest a couple of things. 1. As mentioned above, check the water temp gauge reading with an infra-red temp gun aimed at the temperature regulator housing or wherever the coolant temp sensor is located on the engine. Also check the radiator inlet/outlet temperatures while you are in there. 2. Get into the electronics and see what Active Diagnostic Codes, if any, are present and report whatever you find. Note that to be Active the letter "A" has to be present when the code is displayed. See the attachment.
