Question, I’ve got a 953c with the 3126 in it. Losing prime on fuel system. Cat put all new injectors in it got it home and it ran fine put about 1 hour on it moving a little dirt around. Then parked it can back a day latter and it would not start. I put a new pressure regulator on the back of the head connecting to the return line. Put a new fuel line from the tank to the priming pump. And a new priming pump. If you prime the tractor be for starting it will fire up and run good. But when you cut it off and let it sit for a while it will not start. When it is running the fuel pressure is 78 psi when you cut it off it losses the pressure in about 30 seconds. Any ideas? Thanks.
The 326-1644 separator filter has a bowl. Is the thumbwheel for the drain all the way up flush? Is the triangle Seal present or doubled up between the bowl and the filter?
To know exactly what you have requires a Serial Number. A 953C of 2ZN-prefix does not have this type of primary filter. The later BBX-prefix machines do. Triangle seal is #1A. I'd also suggest taking a look at the condition of the O-Rings 2A/2B on the drain thumbwheel.
All of that is brand new just replaced.
All is brand nen
So you have a BBX-prefix machine.?
My 2ZN has a 3116. Figured it was probably a BBX.
My bad. Missed that bit. Was the replacement priming pump OEM or aftermarket.? Electric or hand operated.?
It's more than likely the lift pump on the back of the huei, but start simple first,
With water bowl on the 326-1644, i have had the same starting/ prime issues. The drain plug must have the thumbwheel flush/ touching the bowl. The threads distort, prevent full closure. I carry a new bowl on the truck to remedy such scenarios. And, you can install the bowl sans triangular seal O-ring, and not see a fuel leak. I've encountered that several times also.
