any source out there for a rebuilder for the drive pump and motor cat pump on back order and at 26,000 for new is not a option for this older machine
Depending on what is wrong with the pump and motor, have you tried talking to local hydraulics shops? Sometimes all that is required is some lapping on the disks. They likely have some aftermarket sources of complete pumps and motors, too. Also, if you are not set on "genuine cat" parts, there is a huge market out there for other hydraulic suppliers. I'm in Canada, and a quick check on Kijiji turned up about a half dozen major suppliers of mobile equipment hydraulics, either rebuilt or new. Probably lots of stuff that is from across the water. So that may be an angle to try, in your area, of course. Even eBay and Amazon may turn up someone a lot closer to you that might be worth checking out. All of this takes time, so if you don't have the time....it becomes the cost of doing business. It sounds like you had something grenade in your drive system....If that is the case you probably have to check everything that fed off that common oil system to ensure you haven't contaminated anything else. Good luck and keep us posted! Jon.
