adjust gpm in excavator hyd pump

dayexco ยท 2010-08-05 20:29

i have a 210 lc-7 hyundai with a 5.7 cummins. i just had the relief valve set/checked recently when i rented a hammer. when he had the flow meter/pressure gauge on it...i should have had him tweek it then, but didn't. is there a way with common tools, gauges...to increase the gpm thru the system and maintain the existing relief settings? it seems like now when i run my allied vibe plate...that it needs more flow? any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with which pump is in your machine but all the variable displacement pumps have a flow adjustment. An experienced and knowledgable mechanic can probably adjust it by cycle timing the track. However, if the rest of the machine is working properly and only the compactor function is working slower, you most likely have a problem in the compactor. A quick check of the performance of the machine is to do a boom up cycle. Completely retract the stick and bucket cylinders and set them down at ground level. Have your machine is the highest performance mode with the engine at full speed and then time how long it takes to raise the boom all the way to the ends of the cylinders. Standard time is around 4 seconds. If you are close to that time then leave the pumps alone and figure out where else the problem might be. Good Luck!

Do not touch the pumps the flow will have to be set on the auxiliary not the pump will have to check there may be a way to do it with the controller and display.

just had a chance to look at the service manual you will have to have a flow meter and pressure gauge to adjust that system The -9 machines you can change through the controller but not the -7
