Hey fellas this is probably the most stupid question ever but is there any modifications that I can do to an angle dozer blade to help it carry more dirt ? Thanks
A local contractor in my area has fabricated wings for his smaller dozers to carry materials better when laying out aggregate for finish grade. For bulk dozing technique and slot dozing will likely be the best approach.
What size machine is it and what are its main tasks? The answers will help others offer a better opinion.
Tighten up both top arms , putting the cutting edge further forward under the dirt helps a bit to carry dirt .
Find yourself a good welding shop and have the blade widened. Just try and do it in increments that you can buy wear bar to fit it without modifying the edge. Clint at C&C Equipment just had a good video showing them widening a Deere (iirc) blade, I've seen a couple smaller JD dozers around me with the blades widened and they worked well.
