First off I want to say that I live in a cold climate and do not want to convert. I have a d8h and d7e. Both with pony engines. All of a sudden I've been having issues with the pinion only connecting with the ring gear by about 1/4" I pull the motors out, and under full engagement the pinion is around 3/4 from bottoming out. I've pulled them all apart, found nothing wrong. Put them back together and now they're around around .025" from bottoming out at full engagement. Which is good, but I don't like that I found nothing wrong. Hoping the old pros can tell Me a common problem that I should be looking for
