back up alarm and back up lights not working

Back up alarm and reverse light not working but the the strob is any help on cat 980h im not getting no power .. cant find the fuse for it or a ground it has the new led light any help

    If the beacon that is referred to in the operators manual is the same as the strobe you mention, then it is fuse # 10. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/836534/Caterpillar-980h.html?page=43&term=fuse

    The backup alarm power signal comes from the Powertrain ECM which is why you won't find a specific fuse for it. If an electrical schematic would help your diagnosis attempts then send me a PM with the machine Serial Number and your email address. The reversing lights are a different matter. They might even be an attachment because they are not shown on the electrical schematic that I'm looking at. If someone has wired reversing lights into the feed for the backup alarm without realising that feed is generated by the ECM you could be in a world of hurt. The rear flood lights are controlled by the main (rotary type) light switch in the cab. Can you find the wires that connect to the reversing lights and get wire numbers and colours from them..? A photo would also be good to help identify if they are standard fitting or have been added afterwards.
