been in the dirt game for about 4 years now, and just seeing if anyone has any good suggestions on how i can grow, improve, and learn new things for my business.
What kind of dirt
Drive around town on the weekend, see what is going on, who is building what, what kind of machines are on the ground. If you can make time during work hours swing by those jobsites and watch how the competition moves around , how they staff the job , etc
Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you. Wife and I was just out in Austin over Labor Day and drove 35 north to Waco for the AU - Baylor game. Also went to San Antonio last April for the Final 4. Don't know what part of TX you are from but that entire area we recently visited is under construction. Way more going on there than here. What sector of the dirt moving world are you in? Residential, commercial, industrial, agriculture?
im in the san antonio and austin area. currently in the larger residential side moving into small commercial
We sub most of our landscaping to a smaller company. He gets a lot of work from us and has grown because of it He has purchased a lot of equipment that would have been difficult at the size he was. We have also been subbing out ditching and cross culverts to another company. Not sure if it has affected their growth but it keeps their guy's busy
