blowing fuse help

john deere 260 skid steer. soon as you turn the key on it blows ignition fuse. checked ign. switch and park brake switch. all ok.. see no damaged wire grounding out...could it be starter , starter relay, what?

Haven't worked on a Deere skid, but I'd check to see if it has a fuel solenoid on the engine. If it does, that's a good suspect being your problem.

atcoequip is correct! before his message i narrowed the search from the fuel relay to the cold start switch and advanced start switch.. now which one? small sensor under the upper rad hose with 2 wires. soon as i plug this in ,it blows the fuse....unplugged the device replaced the fuse and all ign works but will not turn the engine over..... does this device have to be plugged in to complete the ignition loop?

Whoa now...don't say I'm correct...we ain't found the problem yet. Hmm, would cold start switch possibly be for glow plugs? Sensor below rad hose could be temp switch that keeps glow plugs from working when engine is warm/hot. Just taken' a wild guess. Advanced start switch? I'm clueless.

does it have an ether can setup on the intake somewhere? Sounds like the bad switch is going to ground internally . Probably is linked in the solenoid circuit.

its called a cold start sensor...hooked to the fuel injection pump. idea is that it checks the heat and sets the timing and flow of fuel. nothing to it.. two wires into a bolt basically. hoping when i replace this it will allow the starter to work. hope it is connected!

A Good Volt Ohm Meter would save you alot of time and money

For sure, I love my fluke DMM.

fixed the problem...cold start sender was bad. however it would not turn over after the sender was replaced. found that i had bent a relay post during the search. bent it back and it started right up.
