hello, i have a 341 bobcat and i was told by the PO that AC needed a charge. well, it was empty, so i threw 3 12oz cans into it ( that's what the manual says, 36OZ) and it got cool/kinda coldish briefly, but it is apparent that there is a leak. the compressor kicks and and im assuming works. it's holding most of the refrigerant even overnight or days later, but there must be a leak of some kind somewhere. any thoughts on where to start here? thanks.
Hire an ac tech to come find the leak. First off you need a gauge. You should have low side pressure at 25-40 psi and it should be cold. Then you can soap and water spray all the ac lines and valves and condenser. If you cannot find the leak, it might be the evaporator (but you should smell refrigerant in the cab). Spray the compressor too. I’m not an ac expert and don’t work on those bobcats but you can try this if you tackle it by yourself.
