Bobcat t190 bogging down

Checked out a t190 that needed a little work, when you push the levers all the way forward to travel full speed the machine slows down and you can hear the engine labor. Drives? Didnt see any visible leaks but didnt look too hard. Hyd. Pump? Boom and bucket seemed fine, no noise or sluggishness.

Slowing down and engine laboring sounds like a fuel problem to me. Does it take a moment to recover full rpm when you let go of the drive levers? If machine was slowing down but made no noticeable difference with engine then I would say drive belt slipping. I'd thoroughly check fuel delivery system first thing.

i checked it out again today. it seems that when you let off the levers the bogging immediately stops but then i noticed that as you warm up the machine the bogging goes away completely even when travelling full bore the machine starts pretty rough also i should add. definitely seems like a fuel problem now eh?

well, still hard to say at this point. first thing one does is change the fuel filter, but be sure and remove the filter and pour contents into a clean pan to see what was in the filter. water and debris is what you would look for. Bobcat machines have a stainer on end of hose inside tank, they pick up right off bottom of tank. any water or dreggs will end up in filter. if it's really nasty looking stuff that comes from filter, it's possible the stainer on end of fuel pick up hose inside tank is clogged, common problem with Bobcat machines.

Sometimes when you get fuel I find that it's like your getting the bottom of the tank from the refinery, while working for Brunet last year and this year they kept having troubles with plugged up fuel filters. I've heard the same from other people buying diesel fuel from Co-op in Manitoba. So keep a few extra filters around and in the winter especially keep a couple cans of fuel conditioner on hand and drain the tank every month or couple months.
