brand new 37g

637slayer ยท 2012-11-03 11:36

ive been running the new 37 for two weeks now, there seems to be a huge difference in the way its balanced, feels like i can turn around anywhere i want without nosediving, the seat is different too, its computerized no adjustment for a firm or softer ride, where the adjuster used to be there is a little box with two lights on it, they blink when the seat is empty. we also got a 10t, the pic of the dozer without a cab is the one i picked to run, no more scrapers for me for awhile.

Ya mean you traded a new 37 with a computerized seat for a dozer with no engine? LOL what kind of deal is that??

Maybe he is pushing the blade around like its a wheelbarrel. I mean you do know the cost of fuel these days, company is trying to go green.

Acan you explain to me why the pull loop is half black and half painted? Is that like the flat black hood on musclecars, supposedly to keep the sun glare down? Just curious, I would love to come learn how to run a scraper, on messed around on a ts-14 a few times.

i guess its to help judge the distance when the operator is trying to put it on the front scraper, it shows up really well against the yellow paint of the lead scraper. the dozer i was fortunate enough to run is a d11, engine and cab are being rebuilt, trackframe was rebuilt already. due to senority rules it was a tough decision for me, i really like running scrapers, but a rebuilt 11r trumps a new scraper this time at least on paper for now. they will prob put the machines up for bid again in a year or so. i picked that dozer over a brandnew 10t also, one of the few benefits of having senority in a union. i took pics of the 10t just cant find them.

so im guessing cat isnt goin with the H series in there bigger scrapers? I kinda figured they mite do that. Why did you pick the 11 over the T??? T's are so much nicer, but it is an 11 lol

That makes sense to me for the contrasting colors to get the alignment right quickly. I would have probably chsen the 11 to just so you can say " Yeah I run an 11" just sounds better than a little 10 ha. I know I love running our 8r whenever I am allowed to, would love to get in either one of the big ones.

Would you like to have a little wager on that?!! Cat is going with H series on the 630 and 650 families, 100% no question. Not sure what would make you think that as T4 is the driver and there is no dodging that, nothing else. They did however decide to take the opportunity to do the full revamp in light of that and the H series is the biggest money spent on scraper development since Cat began makin em. This will be the last big update we will see in our lifetime. There are other reasons for the massive changes and they come about from suppliers no longer making castings/housings that have been used in the past and better technology. The scraper team are taking the opportunity to lay the foundations for the next ??? years. Sure they will have teething issues, what doesn,t these days but they are a heritage line in Cats product line and Cat know (as do a lot of contractors) there is no cheaper dirt than with scrapers and now people are starting to wake up that those stupid wiggle trucks and excavators are not exactly the cheapest dirt around the scraper has some renewed interest so hence the expenditure.

What is the go with the kidney cutter bumper slayer? big dozer means big jobs, the 10T is like running a D6 compared to running an 11, nimble, quick and can get plenty done, i know what i would have picked!! Good luck on her.

there was some other factors involved too, the 11 is closest to my house, tired of the drama that goes with working with the same people year after year, backstabbing and politics, but the real deciding factor was that its a d11. but if the scraper was a H that would be a different story.

I havent heard or seen anywhere where cat said that 31, 37 and 57 would go to an H, or did i miss something??? Im pretty sure they could put a different engine in there without redoing everything. Yeah being close to homw would be nice, the closest i have been to my house for the last 4 years was 350 miles, right now im 600 miles! Have you started running the 11 yet??? I got to run one for half a day once and it was awesome. I would love to work for an outfit again that had a few

Yes they could but like i said the opportunity to revamp a lot of stuff has presented itself and corporate have approved the expenditure so the scraper group are going after it with styling similar to other product lines in order to both keep up with them and lay a platform for the future. There has been no announcements the larger machines will upgrade but i can assure you they will as the family look is to be std across all models, that is a corporate objective in order to support there marketing etc. Australian dealers and customers have given a lot of feedback to Cat for the H series.

It took a while to get used to the fat nosed G's compared to the D's & E's from a cosmetic standpoint and I hope the new 30 and 50 series H's don't carry on the look of the new 20 series.

after running these gs i cant imagine cat making the 37 or 57 any better Gavin i wish you could tell me how the balance is dif. from the 11 g to the 12, i think they moved the neck a couple of inches forward or back. i would like to know why the trany lock light is almost a pink color also, dont really like that. im running a 9L now still waiting for the 11 to get done. i have faith in cat if they change the g it will be better. there was a time when i thought cat could never improve on the 637c, i thought the g was a joke cab, stereo, p,r,n,d,1,2 for the trany select, now i could never go back to running that old c. if its not a cat its a dog.
