Hi everyone Ive had my old 17a out working and for some reason the bottom fuel jet on the carburetor on the starting engine has come loose and fallen out during operation. Either that or some bugger is trying to have a laugh and has removed it Would any of you good folks happen to have one of these kicking about that they coild send off to little old New Zealand? Quite happy to pay as shes in a gully and I cant start her without it Any help as all ways would be greatly appreciated
I believe that uses a Zenith 261-8 carb. Is it the Main Jet Adjustment Screw Assembly you are looking for? That would be a Zenith part number C71-42. Good luck finding one.
Found a new one here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/292340262262?hash=item4410d66576:g:4DwAAOSw2GlXEOVk Says if fits a 11752 replacement carb, not sure if it is the same as the original 11355.
Comes down to a choice between a Cat #5M5446 or a 9F2903 adjustment screw assembly. Need carb number to pin it down. Plenty of both listed on Machinery Trader Parts Search.
Old Magnet to the rescue again thanks yes it is the whole of part 12 shown on the diagram Main jet adjust ment Will have a look on eBay cheers
What's the Zenith tag number on the carb?
cant find any tag to speak of only this under side of the air cleaner port looks something like 3.119
What the s/n of your tractor. Can match the carb that way although chances of it being changed after so many years might not be all that accurate.
This one is #6658 17a
That s/n originally had a Cat #5H1227 carb and uses the 9F2903 adjustment screw assembly. Same as the Zenith C71-42 part number.
Your a legend thank Old Magnet Had my 13 yr old son turn up from being on holiday today and had him using smaller arms than I and he found the bloody thing in the belly pan probably be 1000 to 1 odds thanks so much for your help though
Go buy yourself a lottery ticket, and if it wins anything donate the money to your son.
Wow! Long odds for sure....an "atta boy" for your son. Never know what you may find in those belly pans.
Usually at least one 9/16” wrench.....
I dropped the pans on my Komatsu and found the original wing nut for the air cleaner, a 38 bullet, and a spare key for the start switch!
