Has anyone put a Carco 120 PS on a Cat D5 98J?
Carco 120 is for a D8K sized tractor. For a D5 your want a Cat 55, Carco 60 or F50, Hyster D6D, D6E. W6E, W6F
I know, but the thing is that already own a Cat D5 and the Carco 120 PS. The 3306 has power for it, if I put a PTO driveshaft that fits both ends and fabricate an adapter to mount it, would it work? What are the physical differences between the Carco 50 and 120 that would impede it?
yes i guess you could make an adapter plate; but would have to be fairly substantial as the J120 case and stud pattern would be considerably wider and deeper than the rear case of the D5. Also pto spigot would be much bigger on the winch that the rear case hole on the D5. Also how far down would the winch case sit; as pto shaft and hole determine the centre starting point And yes drive shafts can be made up to suit. Same old scene, alot of things can be done with enough time and money
