I have a 1990 Case 1550 with approx 2000 hours. The unit has a hydro-stat transmission. The left side track has quit pulling, however, the right side is fine. Does this sound like a minor or major repair problem?
Does the left side freewheel? Depending on how case does it. It could be a traction motor, planetary, quill shaft, final drive, brake applied etc. Major repair? Depends on how easy it is to get at.
Hi DaveH, is the track locked up or does it free wheel? This could be as simple as a linkage pin or your worse nightmare or anything in between. I think we need a little more info on the reaction of your machine before we can help ya. Dozer575 asked a valid question.
Cas 1550 drive Hi Dozer 575. Just got back in town. The left track will still barely pull, but is not as strong as the right side. The dealer said if it needed a pump, I would probably be out of luck as the OEM and the re-man are no longer available.
