Anyone know what oil goes in the chain case for for a case 1838? Thanks
Not familiar with the 1838, but we used 15W-40 in our 1845C. My opinion, worth everything you pay for it, is any oil would be fine. Compared to the conditions a motorcycle chain sees the chain case on a skid steer is an easy life, at least as far as lubrication is concerned. As long as you keep the water out, which can be a problem in some applications like out 1845C used for clean up in a quarry.
