I have a 2007 case 420 not a series 3 and i was running it yesterday and it started knocking no lights came on oil level as low but not out it still showed on the dip stick so what the heck happened it has 2300 hours
What happened? It was likely run low on oil. Low oil, run on an incline would do it. You would need to pull the motor and take a look at the bearings to determine what/how. Do all of your gauges/idiot lights work?
