Hello Gents I stripped of the rocker cover of the engine as water was in the oil, when I drained the oil water started bubbling out of what looks like a core plug that has rusted through in the head. This looks like it is the source of the water entering the oil and not liner rings or cracked head as first suspected. Is this a core plug and are they available to replace? Thanks Ian
Lucky you! A great deal cheaper to repair than the liner seals. Yes, they should be 1" core/welch plugs x 3 in the top of the head. There is also an 1 3/4" plug in the rear of the head that maybe worth doing as well.
Brilliant thank you for replying Airman, a lot cheaper fix than anticipated Cheers Ian
