is the case 450B fairly reliable? what are thier weak points? guy has one for sale asking $7500 which seems a bit hi to me, undercarriage very good on one side lot of recent work, apparently other side didnt need anything yet? the pinion is shot for hi range on one side. is a dozer cat with 6 way blade. it is 1985 vintage. any info is appreciated thanks
From your brief description - 450B's were made from about 1978 - 1983 undercarriage work is usually carried out to both sides at the same time "pinion shot for hi range on one side" - does that mean the when you put the machine into LH & RH hi range - that one side doesn't engage or drive properly? It does sound a little like buyer beware to me......
