New here ive got case 450c tracks were loose so i put grease inthem to tighten them up now they to tight how do i loosen them have tryed takeing grease alimight out thinking grease would come out and would loosen but no luck
Welcome to HEF ultramag870! If you look at the the area where the grease nipple/zerk is located, you will see it is screwed into a hex fitting. This is a valve. Use a 3/4" socket & loosen it a half turn or so & the track should slacken & grease will come out of cylinder. If the tracks are binding you may need to jump on the tracks with the fitting loosened.
Hello, If after loosening the grease fitting the tracks are still stuck and not releasing I always put a pin or something similar in the sprocket and use the machine to pull adjuster inward with transmission in gear slowly move tractor, then you can readjust track tension. Also sometimes need to move the machine a little each time you pump grease to keep from getting to tight from a surge of grease pressure.
Thanks for help
Replacing with new chains is the best option and cost effective after all that work and money your rail links are worn.....
