1969 Case 580ck diesel backhoe. I have a new thermostat gauge that just has a sensor on it that goes to the block. The original one just has wires. Can I us the new one and if so wher on the block would it go? Having hard time finding any info on this.
Sounds like your new one is a mechanical gauge. It will work in place of the old style electric. It needs to be at or near the thermostat housing to be accurate for the highest outlet temperature.
