Case 580 k injector pump throttle adjustment

Calcompconc · 2020-02-10 14:28

Having issues with throttle adjustment, tractor starts and runs fine, but in order for this too happen manual throttle must be at half throttle, went thru injector pump, replaced lifter pump, it also shows it at half throttle on injector pump when running, Lucas style pump, if throttle down it will die, it seems to run good at half through idling wise, seems to reach full throttle but just wont stay running unless manual throttle is half way up, any ideas that might cause this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for any suggestions

are u SURE u got the spring code correct.?? theyre all different.. R u SURE u hit the slot on the throttle lever w/ the one on the shaft.?? Did u loose the idle spring on the peg that hooks to the main gov. spring.?? WHY dontcha just adjust the low idle screw till it idles,?? How about posting the pump # & spring code if it has 1.. WHY did u go thru the pump in the 1st place.??

I didnt remove pump, just took cover off and cleaned filter screen , replaced seals, made sure spring code was in proper location, low idle adjustment is maxed out and still doesn't even come close to stop plate on throttle, throttle must be manually set half way up for it to run, numbers on pump U3042F760 26488111JFU A54L 800 1 2500, the reason for pulling top cover was hopefully to fix issue at hand, replaced lift pump, new fuel filters, was thinking maybe fuel solenoid or maybe air getting in at small in line filter by fuel tank

This is the position the throttle must be in too run

The spring code is easy.. its 1 on the throttle & 1 on the gov brkt.. The shut off LEVER is on backwards.. the long end of the arm goes towards the engine side.. If u had the THROTTLE LEVER off.. its very possible u missed the slot.. BUT if it was doing it before u touched it then thats prob. not it.. Was the insides rusted when u removed the cover.??

One more question. Have you done any welding on this machine?? I’ve seen it happen all the time. The electricity flows thru the pump & melts/stretch’s the main gov spring. Another thing I noticed is your return from the top cover. The small fitting should be teed into the return line back to the INLET.
