case 580c power steering pump replacement

I have a case 580c backhoe 207d. recently posted about my broken camshaft, and discovered that the cause was from my power steering pump seized up. To replace the pump with OEM is $1500. I am having a difficult time finding a used one and replacement parts to rebuild it. So, Is it possible to use a completely different pump? And if so, what type of specs should I be looking for? thanks

    Broken tractor is showing a new pump for $ 675.00. Lot of after market parts for the case backhoes, you can type in case backhoe parts and check some other dealers also.
