Hi folks. New to the forum and have found it very helpful. Recently purchased a 1988 Case 580D CK backhoe. Changed oil and hydraulic fluids/filters. Cannot locate the shuttle filter. Have looked behind the radiator screen and no sign of one there or having been there. See no sign of plugs indicating the filter had been bypassed by previous owner. Would greatly appreciate any help with this. Photo would be super. Thank you
There is no filter, Drop the small pan and remove the suction screen, the suction screen serves as a filter and should be cleaned, also there is probably a magnet in the pan as well. the screen is held in the shuttle body by an O ring on the tube so removal is easy. the pan is sealed with silicone sealer, some early shuttles had gaskets but silicone sealer is now the norm.

This is from the Operators manual. Case TCH is hard to find. There is a newer oil that Case replaced it with.
