We are currently working on a Case 580k, with a problem with the brakes. All the brake fluid disappeared and so we filled it up and pumped the brakes up, we tried bleeding the left side but come to realize the master cylinder is not building pressure. The problem is we cant find where the fluid is going, and we want to check the slave cylinder. To pull the brake cylinder do we have to pull the whole rear end or is there a shortcut? thanks.
If Case brakes are like most others (in-board wet brakes) then I bet fluid is going into rear diff because brake linings are so worn out that the piston has pushed past the seal.
Welcome to HEF @brayden briskey Can you give us a serial number for this machine? Does the 4speed lever come out of the RH dashboard? I'm assuming you have a +JJG20000 machine with the phase 3 transaxle - which will require the transaxle removal to carry out the repair.
