What injection system?? Roosa Master[Stanadyne] OR CAV[Delphi] OR Bosch ??
I just found out that there was mounted a very small ( 2 inch ) exstra fuel filter underneath the engine. This filter was clogged . After removing this the engine runs fine again. Sorry to have bothered you
To my knowledge all of the CDC engines used in K's used a inline fuel filter between the tank outlet and the transfer pump. Early they were mounted down near the tank fitting but soon were moved up to the transfer pump area. OEM's have a smooth pipe without a rib that will allow the nut and sealing rubber to fit on it and mount right on the transfer pump fitting. OEM's are not a filter in the sense that they just contain a very fine screen, not a paper element like a gas filter. People of course assume that cause they look like a gas filter that's all they are. You would be wise to reinstall the proper inline as per OEM but you can move it up to the transfer pump for convenience of changing. I could not figure out from your post as you said an "extra" inline as that would mean there were two in the supply line, one is OEM. To ensure that the filter you get is the screen type and not paper pleat get OEM or Fleetgard. Many Case dealers are in the Fleetgard filter program. I would not buy from Auto parts unless they can prove it is a screen type filter HTH Mel
