Ive got a Case 580sk that moves in forward but is real sluggish. It moves fine in reverse though. Any help is appreciated.
Welcome to HEF @Onlygoodcaseisacaseofbeer Assuming the oil level is correct, that you are attempting to drive the machine in 1st or 2nd gear - the only thing that can really affect weak drive in forward only, would be an issue with the forward clutch plates. Pressure testing may indicate a pressure loss in FWD or it may not. Chances are the friction discs are worn out. To carry out this type of repair on an SK, (your 4sp gearshift lever is in the rh dashboard?) the transaxle needs to be removed from the machine & repaired on a bench with the front of the transaxle facing skywards. ....... a few cases of beer maybe required
Thanks for the info...thats what i was afraid of. To answer your question the shifter is on the right dashboard and its sluggish in all 4 gears. Barely moves in 4th on level ground.
