i have this problem with the 3rd and 4rth gear ive checked the 5 solinoids there all ok i give them power directly from an out soyrce batery the 3rd gear works the 4th no movement at all
Is it a ZF transmission? does it have an EST** transmission control box
yes itis a zf transmision i checked everything and i was wrong aboyt it.all the gears work if i give them power from an out soyrce(battery)my problem from the begining is that the 3rd and 4th gear don't engage 1st and 2nd work normaly but when i put 3rd nothing it stays on 2nd gear the same with 4th.i checked all the electric lines they are ok from the solinoids to the electronic control module,from the shifter to the elctronic control module also ok.i checked the fuses the releays everything looks allright the manual says tha if the control module senses that something dosnt go right probably from sensors and solinoids forthe protection of the transmition dosnt allow the 3rd and 4th gear to be engaged and it works only at 1st aand 2nd speed for protetion ichecked the lines of the sensors also ok

Agree with Laycobeau, Sounds like issue with speed sensors . Did you mix up cables?
You have a speed sensor that is bad. They are located on the left side of trans housing. Be careful when changing them they are shim adjusted for depth to read gears, you can use shims that are on old sensors for adjustment. Use voltmeter to test sensor ohms.
