My son has a 1845C that is leaking fuel into the left chain case.Has anyone ever had this happen? the tank is modular with the frame.Looks like it could be a PITA to find, and repair leak.

simple, clean tank and coat the inside with epoxy. How big of equipment do you have to rotiserie the skidsteer?

Thought about a sealer,or even an aux tank on the back like a fork lift, but would really like to find the cause. For it to start leaking after twenty years something is happening to cause it.This machine has been used only for moving and stacking wood chips its whole life, not worked hard.Seems kinda odd!

Maybe a camera snake? and put some vacuum on the tank and slosh the inside with soapy water to see the bubbles where it's leaking? Or maybe the chain case is the easier way to access it, slosh the fuel tank with soapy water and pressurize then inspect through chain case. Just another wild guess, but an integral tank is pretty rigid and probably cracked near a weld/corner, or rusted out from the bottom of the fuel tank?

Thanks for your input, will get into it Soon, and find out.Just thought that maybe that machine had a habit of that problem and someone could shed some light on it.

Keep waiting, the Case experts will see this before long, and if they haven't heard of this issue, I'm sure somebody else will go searching for the same problem and find this eventually.

Have seen a few fuel tank leaks on the 1800 series, around the fuel tank area. Usually around the welds where the lift cylinders are mounted, so they leaked externally. Never seen or heard of one that leaks into the chain case. How much of a leak are you talking about? Whatever the situation...... it will be a disgusting thing to try to repair. Remove the rear hub, clean it up & get some light in there & look for where it is coming in. Depending on what you find, the epoxy repair maybe your only option. Will be very difficult to attempt any type of welding inside that thing. Of course if you WANT to weld it up, you could cut open the chain case (or the fuel tank) to allow access to do the repair, thouroughly test the repair, & weld your way out......... yuk! :spaz

Have not got to look at it yet, my son tells me that after a "few days" that case starts bleeding oil,and fuel, not sure yet if it's coming from a vent, gasket,or a seal. Will get to look at it this weekend, and give an accurate report.
