My Cat 257 starts up and runs fine for about 30 minutes. After around a half hour of use, the tracks stop moving correctly. Here are the symptoms: * motor is still running * hydraulics for the bucket all work correctly * no warning lights are on * when you try to move the unit forward or backwards it will go a couple of feet, and then it feels like someone hit the brakes. If you let go of the joystick and then try to move again the unit will move a few more feet then stop. The motor is trying to go, and the motor is under load but it just doesnt want to move. Once it cools down, everything starts working fine again for 20-30 minutes then it does the same thing again. I have been told to check the drivetrain oil filter, so that is my first step. Any other suggestions???
When machine is in failure mode, I would check charge, pilot pressures. This is happening to both sides at once, right?
