Cat 289C

Working on a Cat 289C. Got a yellow diamond exclamation on and I can't engage the high flow. Checked all the fuses. I am looking for the location of the high flow solenoid. Does anyone know where that is located? Thanks

You're problably also going to need an electrical schematic so please post a Serial Number for a start. Also post a photo of the panel in the top RH corner of the cab. You might just have one of the optional panels that allows access to diagnostics.

SN is CAT0289CPRTD01175. I will get some pictures tomorrow of the panel and post them.

So you are in luck. The dash panel with the two gauges allows you to access Diagnostic Codes. For the moment we only need to be concerned with anything that is Active. Here is the procedure:- 1. Turn the key ON but do not start the engine. Allow all the electronic panels to perform their self test. 2. There are three buttons below the two gauges. Press and hold the two outer ones for 3 seconds, then release them. 3. The panel will now be in Service Mode 1 which shows the Active Diagnostic Codes. 4. If nothing is Active the screen will be blank with a small "book" icon in one top corner. However I am confidently expecting something to show up. 5. If a Code shows on the screen write it down then press the centre button once and release it. That will scroll to the next Code on the list. Continue with that process until you return to the first Code that appeared. 6. To put the panel back into Operation Mode press and hold the two outer buttons for 3 seconds then release them. In the event that the Service Mode screen is blank (see Step 4 above) do not move any controls but try starting the engine while the panel is still in Service Mode and see what pops up. If that till shows nothing try moving the control/switch for the High Flow and check again. Report back with your results.

Sir you are a life saver. Hope these codes point us in the right direction.

2204-3 is the clue. See the attached troubleshooting procedure. You will also need an electrical schematic. Check your messages. Are you sure you pressed the centre button to scroll through the modes in the screen.?
