My cat 312 excavator doesnt stop after i turned off the key.i cheked the stop solonoid and its relay and its wiring its ok.i noticed when i turn on and off the key switch i noticed a click sound comes from stop relay two three times after some time a go.and controller green light doesnt stop until that happens.

Thank you for your reply.cat 312 and its 7dk00657 and engine 3064 and its se.no 6lk00812 I tried looking in the SIS access I have and the machine S/N does not come up but the engine does but not to any one particular machine. Hope someone who is familiar with the 312 will see this and give some ideas of what to check.

Sir i my self inspect the machine as i know can you let me know sir is there a connection between alternator, safety relay, and controller and the stop procedure.if this question is complicated can you let me know about the safety relay, it consist with wires from alternator,starter,ground,key sw,controller what is the function of this can this componant have an affect on engine *** down.
And serial numbers consist * symbols at the two ends so modle no. 312 and seri. No. *7Dk00657* and eng modle no.3064 and seri. No. *6Lk00812*
As I have tried to explain Cat often builds machines different depending on what part of the word they are being sold and often the information for a machine say shipped to Srilanka might be totally different than for a machine built for shipment to England. Then they may or may not make the information for a machine sold to one country available to someone in another country. That said I am attaching what I find showing "Stop and Start Circuits" for various Excavators. The second diagram is for 312C Excavators but I can not claim that it would be anything like what your machine has on it. Best bet would be to try contacting a Cat dealer in your country and see if they can provide something for your specific serial number.
I think any of the 312 diagrams will match, but 312b,c,... Diagrams are different.but thanx for your help.if u know some one who can help please suggest them to help me because i m helpless here and dont know how to figure it out.again thanx for your effort a lot.
It looks like the 3064 uses the same style fuel pump as the 3066 in the 320. On the 320 the engine shuts off by pulling the throttle below idle speed. If this is what you have it could be a throttle cable adjustment problem. Do you actually have a fuel shutoff solenoid or just throttle control stop?
Thak you for your reply sir.i m having fuel shut off solonoid sir.and if i say about my problem it seems like electrical problem.because now when i just turn the key switch on and then off monitor and everything off but controller takes long time 2,3 minutes to shutdown its green light on it.and when it turned off i can here clicking sound 2,3 times i think it came from the stop solonoid and it happens every time when i turn the key switch on and then off.may i know sir with this will there be a problem in key switch?
