Recently purchased a 315BL, I was under the assumption the L was for long track, But is their a measurement to determine if it is a long stick or a standard stick. sn 3AW01622
It originally left the factory in June 1998 with a 2.6m-long stick installed. The other stick options available are 2.25m & 3.1m.
Ok so it is the medium stick, Is that the typical stick arrangement for that machine, or is that hard to tell? What is the official designation for the L?
"L" have longer undercarriage. 82 grousers vs "L" at 88 grousers.
Machines configurations are ordered by the dealers for the most part. Dealers with rental fleets generally only order the medium or standard stick. New machines now days are generally ordered off a spec sheet and then brought it with what ever options you might want. Sometimes dealers will bring in new machines for stock to fill their quota of orders. Those will generally all have the stick that gets sold the most in their area. I've heard that this year, new machines will be hard to get let alone with the options that you might want.
