After another trip to cat, another problem. I replaced the grease zerk on my track adjuster. now grease is blowing out the seal. My question is, how long is the ram for the track adjuster? how do i know when im to the end? Am i looking at taking the entire track, idler, coil spring out and putting new seals in? My other question is, my hour meter has now officially stopped working, its brand new. Can you test them to see if they are bad? do they run on 24 volts, as to where i can sync 2 batteries and test it? Thats alot of questions, however its only just begun...
what seal is blowing out the grease? The piston prolly only has 10" of travel The meter is 24v. Is it mechanical or digital? a mechanical will have a hot and a ground and a digital will have a constant hot, ground and signal. What SN is the 320, I can then give you a little more info on the adjuster.
Its digital, the serial is m3t56183, it is a 1995. I will look at the hour meter more closely this weekend or next....its deer season...all work stops! what is the signal wire do...sorry i lack in electrical expertise!
the seal blowing out is the side the coil spring and idler are on. looking at the track the right side of the ram.
Does the meter show anything? If it is a digital then it has been replaced and may have been wired up incorrectly. Does it show anything when the engine is running? Sound like the adjuster is leaking through the end of the cylinder. The spring bolt is there, these bolts do break, this allows the spring to uncompress and no way to adjust the track. Either way you will need to split the track and pull out the idler/recoil assy. Can you see the spring, how close are the coils? The sn is no good. the PIN tag will show it on the top line. is this a 320B, L?
Not sure on the 320 but i removed a track adjuster on a 330B by adjusting idler out all the way then chaining it in position remove lower roller drectly under adjuster the releasing tension on adjuster push ram back in wit a prybar remove adjuster mounting bolt then remove adjuster from under machine. The only reason i did it this way is because i couldnt get master pin out without some one to help.
A 330 adjuster is a separate part of the recoil spring assy. On the 320 it is apart of the recoil spring assy and can not be remove through the bottom.
I think it may be a gray market machine, thus showing that serial number. the digital hour meter shows nothing. no numbers. wired wrong?
