Hello. I have a 416B cat backhoe with no hydraulic working it was ran out of oil we refilled it worked for a bit the nothing could there be a air lock in the system, if so where is the best place to bleed it from
When a machine is run out of oil, most operators are only aware of it when the machine is acting up or not doing anything. Usually, the pump is already damaged at that point. It would be wise to remove the hydraulic filter and see if you have metal in it first.
Thank you for you quick response I will do that, right after I get done firing the operator i just bought a hyd tester kit to check the pump pressure will report back on my findings. Thank you again
Better check for a busted hydraulic hose too. That oil went somewhere if your operator didn't see it.
Didn’t loose the drive coupling for the pump? Saw that before
If you want detailed technical information please post a machine Number.
Hello Nige here are the numbers of the tag writing is worn of so not sure which is the serial number 8ZK05314.....5HK25609.....C952739 416B Cat Backhoe we checked the filter for metal filings none found, we checked for pressure at the pump there was pressure not able to measure our gauge would not fit the test port but sprayed a good five feet a bit redneck but I live two hours from any city. also when you place your hand on the pump it does not feel like it turning input shaft looks good
You could try and pressurize the hydraulic tank a little with an air hose and a rag. Try and burp the pump.
Thank you everybody for your comments it looks like the pump shaft has broken away from the impeller shaft we only have 20 lbs pressure coming out of the pump.....well there goes the kids winter boots lol now to try to find a rebuild kit Thanks again
