Can anyone tell me what engine is used in a mid-80s 935 track loader? A friend is having oil useage problems, somtimes go for hrs no problem then less than 1 hr it could go through 3 or 4 gal suposeably. Not leaking or oil blowing out the exhaust, they have been told broke ring. My question is anybody have ideas and what engine was used in that machine anyway? ?Thanks for your time and knowledge! Our 935c has a 3204 motor in it. I believe it is a 90 or a 91. It a work horse, in my opinion is will work side by side with the 939, and they say the 39 is as good as the 943 ha ha ha ha ha ha. I had some pics of my 935c, and my 943 i thought i would share.
Do you have a serial #, divedigger?
If youre talking about a 935B,serial number 30F (1987-1988) 935C,serial number 8CF 935C SeriesII,serial number SDJ (1990-1993)

Hi. We have a couple of 935B'S and they both have 3204 engines. The engine has no sleeves, and is basicaly a cut in half 3208. A few years ago on one machine a bolt fell out of the timing cover in behind of the injector pump, unnoticed of course, and resulted in bottom end bearing failure. With the belly pan on it took quite a bit of leakage before it would have been easily detected. They also like to leak oil into the torque converter housing until the oil starts seeping out around the starter. If a ring breaks you should have a fair amount of blowby coming out of your valve cover breather tube. Just a few thouhts that might help you out. Good luck!!!
3204 Thanks for the tips. I will try to get a seriel # to find out the year It just didnt make sense that it would go for hours with no useage than all at once it uses 2 or 3 gallon. Whats strange is they say no oily exhaust or heavy blowby or external leaks so where could all that oil go that quick? This is not my machine nor have I ever ran it , just was told by the owner what it is doing. Thanks
