What are the differences between a B and C model? Are the the C models worth the extra money? How many hours can you typically get out of these machines without major rebuilds?
How many hours Depends on conditions entirely. I have seen very reliable C machines with 15k hrs. If you buy one make sure it is a "round back" and not one of the '96 '97 '98 models.... To my understanding they was a bridge machine and had a lot of problems Pj
If you get a good 953 it will give you a lot more good service than a C. The 943&953 machines had few problems. Later Bob
I personally prefer the C machines and the ability of being able to pull service codes and posting them on HEF to find out what's wrong lol Pj
That might keep you busy it's electronics and computers. The hydraulic and hystat drive oil is common so any failure will contaminate both systems leading an expensive clean out. The old 43's&53's were very reliable if maintained properly. If the hydro mechanical system is adjusted by someone that knows how to it will stay adjusted. Just my opinion. Later Bob
