Does anyone know how to remove injection pump? I have everything loose....but the bar that runs through the side of the head and attaches to the fuel rail (not sure that's correct name). How do you disconnect it? I see no clip, pin, nothing on engine side. Not sure how to get to it inside pump.
Hard to explain without drawing a picture but here goes; Look between the governor and cyl head and you'll see a tube that the linkage goes through. This tube has a spring clip around it. Remove the spring clip with a piece of wire with the end bent into a hook shape. Next get some vise grips with rounded jaws. Grip the tube but first put something soft (thin aluminium or plastic sheet etc) around it so you don't damage it. Gently twist the tube to break it loose. It's held with O rings at both ends which will be stuck. Now get a screwdriver and pry against the vise grips to push the tube into the cylinder head. Once you have the tube all the way into the head, you'll see a clevis pin which joins the governor to the rack. Remove it and you're all done. Make sure to renew the two O rings before you refit the governor.
thank you!!!
