Hi. I have a cat 963c that won't start. Fuel indicator keeps flashing on dashboard although there's fuel in the tank. Could a faulty fuel sensor prevent the machine from starting? And how to amend. Thanks. SN: CAT0963CABBD02578
Is your machine the one with the low fuel indicator (see #18 below) on the LH side of the dash.? When you first turn on the key the panel will self-test. Look at the SERV CODE icon on the RH side. After the self-test does it stay lit or go out.?
Hi Nige. Thank you for drawing my attention to this issue. Turned out that the fuel filter is completely blocked. After replacing it, the machine was able to start. However, the pump and injectors are completely concealed. So I wonder how to fuel-prime such an engine in case of air-lock.
Start removing covers would be my guess.
Your machine has a 3126 engine ,there are no place to bleed injectors or governor, just a hand primer pump. Bob
Thanks a million gentlemen, your efforts are highly appreciated.
